County Boundaries - Changes -
Montgomery County and Prince George's County - Boundary Alteration provides
that when a certain legislation is enacted that provides for a change in
boundary lines of a county, if the area affected by the change in boundary
lines is at least a certain number of acres, the question of the boundary
change shall be placed on a certain ballot in accordance with certain
provisions of law; provides that when certain legislation is enacted that
provides for a change in boundary lines of a county, if the area affected by
the change in boundary lines is less than a certain number of acres, the
governing bodies of the affected counties shall obtain the written consent or
refusal to consent of certain residents on the question of the boundary
change; requires certain boards of elections to determine the number of
legally qualified voters in a certain area and to provide a list of the number
of legally qualified voters in a certain area to the governing bodies of
certain counties under certain circumstances; requires the governing bodies of
certain counties to provide a certified copy of the results of a certain
question of a boundary change to certain persons; provides that if a majority
of certain residents do not consent to a change in boundary lines, then a
certain change in boundary lines shall be null and void; provides for the
alteration of the boundary line between Montgomery County and Prince George's
County to provide that a certain portion of Prince George's County is a
part of Montgomery County if certain conditions are met; requires the Board of
Elections for Montgomery County and the Board of Elections for Prince George's
County to determine the number of legally qualified voters who reside in the
area affected by the change in boundary lines and to provide a list of certain
legally qualified voters to the County Executive and County Council of
Montgomery County and the County Executive and County Council of Prince
George's County; requires the County Executive and County Council of
Montgomery County to obtain the written consent or refusal of consent to a
certain boundary change from certain residents and to send a certified copy of
the results to certain persons; providing for the rights and privileges for
certain inhabitants of the affected area under certain conditions; and
provides for the implementation of this Act. | MC
