Title:                                        Montgomery County – Regulation of Local Campaign Finance Activity  

AMENDMENT No. 1 [TECHNICAL]: This is a technical amendment to the purpose paragraph.

On page 1, in line 8, after “activity;” insert “requiring that any laws enacted to regulate campaign finance authority be administered in a certain manner and provide a certain option;”.

         AMENDMENT No. 2: This amendment clarifies that a campaign finance law enacted under this Act must be administered by the local board of elections for Montgomery County and allow candidates to accept or decline public financing.

         On page 2, in line 19, strike “and (c)” and substitute “(c), and (d)”; in lines 23 and 32, in each instance, strike “(c)” and substitute “(d)”; and after line 31, insert:

         “(c) A law enacted under subsection (a) of this section shall:

              (1)          be administered by the local board of elections for Montgomery County; and

              (2)          allow each candidate the option to accept or decline public financing.”.
